LettuceKnow, Science-Based Improvement of Salad

We present here LettuceKnow. It is an academy-industry research initiative bringing together intellectual and technological resources, expertise, and capital from three Universities and UMC Utrecht, seven Companies, and the germplasm bank in the Netherlands. This UU-led program aims to gain knowledge about processes that govern growth and stress resilience of lettuce to unveil this economically important crop's potential. We combine laboratory and field phenotyping experiments with transcriptomics and genetic mapping in almost 500 lines of four lettuce species.
